Information we collect

  • Identity & contact details (name, address, email, phone, date of birth, ID documents for AML).

How we use it & lawful basis

  • Contract — to deliver probate, estate administration, wills and LPA services you instruct us on.
  • Legal obligation — identity and anti-money-laundering checks, HMRC and HMCTS submissions, and record-keeping duties.
  • Legitimate interests — securing our systems, improving the service, responding to enquiries.
  • Consent — optional analytics cookies and marketing emails (you can withdraw at any time).

Who we share it with

HMRC, HMCTS Probate Registry, the Land Registry, banks and asset holders relevant to your estate, our identity verification provider, and our secure cloud hosting and email providers (UK/EEA). We never sell your data.

Retention

We retain client files for a minimum of 7 years after the matter closes. Identity and anti-money-laundering records are kept for 5 years from the end of the business relationship.

Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to run the site and your secure session. Optional analytics cookies only run if you accept them in the cookie banner. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or port your data, and to object to processing. To exercise any right, email us above. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Documents in the executor vault are stored in a private bucket with row-level access restricted to your account.
